Bogdan Sucio - Piano

Bogdan is a young Romanian pianist as well as an avid student of human movement.

His musical journey started in Baia Mare where he graduated from the College of Arts with magna cum laude. Further on, after having obtained a scholarship at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, he has now graduated his BMus (Hons) Piano Performance course.

In his university years, Bogdan has refined his pianistic approach under the masterful guidance of Prof. Anthony Hewitt, also known as the Olympianist. Bogdan’s frequent performances in recitals, projects and festivals, reflect his intention to fascinate audiences through his humble search for beauty, while weaving a story with every note that he plays.

Bogdan’s passion for movement-related disciplines started in high-school, with a Parkour and Freerunning focus, also including Breakdance. During university, these interests expanded towards martial arts such as the Yang Style of Tai Chi Chuan and Capoeira. At the same time, he started working towards his 1st4Sport Qualification for Level 1 Parkour Coaching, which he obtained in December 2018. Recently, Bogdan’s interest in dance drove him to apply for a collaborative scheme between the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the Elmhurst Ballet School, being selected to learn the trade of a ballet accompanist. Following his graduation, he gained a post as a full time Pianist at Elmhurst, on a maternity cover basis. Now, he holds a part time position accompanying ballet classes.

Bogdan’s motivation and drive come from an impetus to move people’s hearts and bodies through movement and music. His life philosophy is one of constant development and spiritual growth, whereas his purpose is learning to love, and his passion - loving to learn.

His dream is that of inspiring people to become more physically active, more musical, and ultimately more creative, thoughts which originated Bogdan’s mantra: MOVE, PLAY, CREATE.
